Zoom, align and pixelate images for annotation

Now annotators can more zoom and expand images they are labeling within the viewport of the task, as well as adjust the vertical and horizontal alignment to find the most convenient position. Once an image is zoomed in, they can also choose to pixelate the image if it’s blurry for more precise annotations.

Streamline your project creation workflow by duplicating projects

Now administrators and managers can quickly spin up new projects and ensure consistency by duplicating existing projects in their workspace. You can choose to duplicate a project by settings only, both settings and data, or settings, data and all annotations. If choosing the latter, users can also decide whether or not to make annotations “Ground Truth.” To duplicate a project, go to the project’s settings “more” menu, choose a destination for the new project, decide which attributes you’d like to duplicate, and update the new project name and description.

Pin and create shared view of relevant projects in your workspace

Administrators now have the ability to pin and unpin projects for quicker reference by team members, whether they are projects the team is currently working on, or projects of interest. All team members will have a view of pinned projects to collaborate on in their workspace. Our customers have requested this feature as their teams have created dozens or even hundreds of projects, and they want a way to quickly jump into their current workflow.

Image annotation UX improvements

As an annotator, you can more easily create a rotated bounding box with a "three point" or "two point" click for image annotation.

New filters in the Data Manager

Label Studio Data Manager is the interface to filter and sort your data to prepare it for labeling, as well as manage annotation tasks. You can now filter tasks by the last time they were updated ("updated_at"), as well as the last person who modified annotations in the task ("updated_by"). There's also a new "lead time" column for the average time it takes annotators to complete a task.

Dynamic Labels

You can now show labels dynamically as a task input, either as a prediction from the model or from a database lookup. With a broader set of options, dynamic labeling saves time and increases the consistency of labeling the objects.
